Cars, Smart phones, TV’s, Korean BBQ. These are a few of the things South Korea is well-known for, with their technology being one of the most advanced in the world. It’s time for South Korea to be acknowledged for something different for a change, and they are definitely on their way to a well-deserved recognition. Max Beer, made from The Hite (Korea’s biggest alcohol company), is proving that it is worthy of ‘standing’ next to some of the biggest competitors in the market.
Max Beer has won the Gold Medal from the 2011 Monde Selection Awards. Monde Selection, (world’s 3rd most renowned international institute for quality selections) was founded in 1961 in Brussels, the Capital of Belgium. Every year, they test over 2450 products from 80 different countries in their respective categories. Over a period of four months, a panel of highly qualified jury award the winners a bronze, silver, or gold award in 10~15 different categories.
Max Beer also won the Bronze Medal from the European Beer Star Awards in the ‘European Style Mild Lager’ category. The European Beer Star Awards is based on the taste and quality of all varieties of beer in their respective categories. Not only did Max Beer win 3rd place out of all the beers from 26 countries involved, but they also were recognized as the top 3 from a panel of highly respected experts—100 Top Brew Masters and Beer Sommeliers.
And to top it off? Max Beer received an entire dedication in the book, “1001 Beers You Must Try Before You Die.” A revolutionary, well-written book promising exactly what the title says: listing all the 1,001 beers a person must try before they die. Every beer fanatic’s dream come true.
Getting out of your comfort zone, and trying new things is part of life’s many experiences. It’s time to give your “go-to” beer a break and experience S. Korea’s refreshing MAX Beer. You won’t be disappointed.
Cheers.
